Asha's First Bottle

Yesterday we gave Asha her first bottle. It probably should have happened months ago, but we just never got around to it. And frankly, it wasn't like I had anywhere to go for long extended periods of time without Asha. But now, it would be nice to be able to go to a movie and not wonder if Asha will be okay while I'm gone (or if Carl is okay with a starving baby). Plus, in January I plan to take an evening course.

Carl always gives the first bottle, since I've had the monopoly on feeding the baby. Asha was slightly intrigued with the bottle, but even more confused because she was getting food AND able to look at me across the room. She couldn't figure what was going on! Then she'd look at Carl, take another nibble and then arch her back to see me again. Well, hopefully over the next few weeks, she'll be accustom to getting food from this plastic thing when her Mom isn't able to be around, or when her Dad would like to have some bonding time with her.

i can totally relate. this is so the season with parties and functions, to have a baby would be interested in a bottle of course without the arched back and down right refusal. i'm so with you. i have two christmas parties, two concerts(one is Bon Jovi!!!)this week and baby that refuses a bottle.what's a mom to do?? annie bannie
