Kezia's Birthday Party

Today we had a birthday party for Kezia...outside! The last few days it has been rainy, but today we woke up to a sunshine filled morning. We had invited everyone from the courtyard, plus two other families. Kezia got a new pair of cowboy boots from the Tanaka family, and she insisted on wearing them for her party. I have to admit, the boots are the cutest I've ever seen.

We had pizza, veggies and dip, and then a purple flower cake (I was very proud of how it turned out). Everyone sang happy birthday to her and cheered when she blew out her candle. She got books, Barbie clothes, activity books, nail polish, and a special tea party in January with her as the guest of honor. Afterwards, we cleared off the tables and I did a craft with the kids. Each child pasted a picture of themselves and tissue paper onto melamine plates with mod podge. And Voila! they had their own personalized dinner plate. I was happy with how the craft turned out, and grateful for Laura's idea.

And by 1:30 it was all over. Whew! What a great day for a party.
